About This Project
Sustainable farming project providing fresh food for our children and income for the ministry.
Farming Initiative Overview
The LLIAM Farming Initiative is a sustainable agriculture project that provides fresh, nutritious food for the children in our care while teaching valuable farming skills. Our farming needs do not stop at the Children's Home—we serve a community with serious food insecurity.
What We Grow:
- Vegetables: Cabbage, tomatoes, onions, carrots, greens
- Fruits: Bananas, pineapples, mangoes
- Grains: Maize, beans
- Poultry: Chickens for eggs and meat
Project Goals:
- Provide fresh, organic food for the Children's Home
- Reduce food costs and improve nutrition
- Teach children and youth valuable agricultural skills
- Share surplus harvest with needy families in the community
- Generate income through sale of surplus produce
- Create a sustainable food source for the ministry
What We Need:
- Additional land for expansion
- Farming tools and equipment
- Seeds and seedlings
- Irrigation system for dry seasons
- Greenhouse for year-round production
- Chicken coops and poultry equipment
Community Impact:
Every harvest season, we share our surplus with the most vulnerable families in the community. This validates our need for extra land for expansion to feed more hungry families.
